Today I worked two hours in total, but was on my way from one workplace to the other for 2 hours. Left the house at 11am, came back at 6pm. Next time Iĺl take the car again. But actually it wasn't too bad. I had time to finish my book on the train ride.
The worst thing was that it started to rain as I was getting out of the train, so I was soaked when I arrived at the second place. Luckily it was still warm. This year we really had a proper summer again, although it started in late august and the nights were cold. But we had about two or three weeks of sunshine, that's unusual.
As of today it seems to be over though.
So this is the book I read:
It's the third book in the series about profiler Tony Hill and police detective Carol Jordan.
It's set mostly in Germany, where Carol is involved in an undercover- sting to set up a crime king pin, and Tony helps the german police with a serial killer who murders psychologists all over germany and holland.
My mistake was to read the following books first, so I knew what happened to Carol in the end. It was like waiting for a train wreck to happen.
I liked the serial killer- storyline. Although I'm often irritated when it's about the nazis again, this was very interesting(although slghtly horrifying), and it showed that the past still effects the present.
For me it is always fun to read about Germany from an outside point of view. But again: People, Germany is more than the nazis. Of course, this seems to be the most prominent factor in German history, but it's still tiring.
All in all the book was very suspenseful, the author can really give you insights into the killers mind. It was very hard to lay down.
